VFW Burglary Suspect Arrested in El Paso County, Colorado

A burglary suspect was arrested at his home in El Paso County, Colorado last October.  Jesse A. Hopkins was charged with burglarizing the VFW on South Santa Fe Avenue, in Fountain, Colorado, on October 18, 2010.

According to a report in the Denver Post, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted Fountain, Colorado police in Hopkins' arrest as there was suspicion of other crimes involving weapons.  Hopkins is now facing Colorado charges of theft, burglary, and criminal mischief.

The extent of these criminal charges will be determined as the investigation continues in Fountain, Colorado (El Paso County).  Hopkins, no longer a minor, will need a very knowledgeable and experienced Colorado lawyer to help him work through these allegations, and the implications which these charges will have on his future.

Although Mr. Hopkins' most pressing problem will be defending the charges brought against him, in today's world of instant information, potential employers, or a curious neighbor can access anyone's arrest record.  Often times, the greatest fallout from an arrest or conviction in Colorado is the lifelong complication of trying to find work.  In a later blog we will discuss Colorado record sealing and the changing laws surrounding a person's ability to seal criminal records.

The attorneys at O'Malley Law Office are the kind of criminal defense attorneys who really care about you. They know that in many cases criminal charges are unjust or exaggerated. If you or someone you know has been contacted by the police, our attorneys will be an advocate for you to help bring about resolution and a just outcome.  Exercise your right to remain silent, be smart, call us today at 303-731-0791.  Together, we can protect your future.
