Charged With A Crime? It Doesn’t Mean You’re Guilty.

Douglas County Court And Castle Rock Court

Castle Rock Criminal Lawyer – Douglas County Defense Attorney For Crimes

Being arrested is always unexpected, humiliating and costly. You can lose your car, your house and contact with loved ones. When you are in the Douglas County Jail, you can’t have contact with friends like you did when you were out of jail. You can’t just pick up the phone and call someone. At a time like this, you need someone who will care for your interests first, and protect you from the powerful arm of government. Protection Orders and a high bond amount can prevent you from contact with family – so trust us to care for you in this time of need.

Douglas County Courthouse Location And District Attorney Practices/Habits

After coming to this courthouse for over 25 years, we understand how it works. The building is huge, with the south end housing the Douglas County Sheriff and Jail, and the north end housing the District Attorney’s Office. In the middle are the courtrooms. The Douglas County Court is on the first floor and the District Courts are on the second floor. County Court divisions include A, B and C. There is also a first appearance magistrate run division. We find the District Attorneys here easier to deal with once they move up to juvenile court and district court. County Court DAs often appear arrogant, unwilling to look at all the evidence, and demanding. They seem to have a very narrow view of what is right and don’t want to talk about the weaknesses of a case or what actually occurred. While this is the general rule, there are exceptions and some government lawyers are excellent to work with.

Castle Rock Courthouse Location And City Attorney Practices In Municipal Or City Court

The Castle Rock Municipal Court, or City Court, is located in downtown Castle Rock. There is only one courtroom and a part-time judge. The City Attorney often hires a private lawyer or law firm to handle their cases as a prosecutor. This prosecutor has been reasonable at times and unreasonable at other times. Generally speaking, they want a fair resolution, but if their “victim” is screaming and yelling for more punishment, they tend to be less reasonable from a defense perspective. They want to please the City Attorney who employs them and be compliant with the policies given.

Criminal Defense In Castle Rock – What Does A Strong Defense Attorney Look Like?

First, a strong defense attorney has experience. We have over 40 years of combined criminal defense experience. Our lawyers have been to court in Castle Rock hundreds of times and know how cases are won or lost. Second, you need a lawyer who genuinely cares what happens to you. This is tough to measure, but it sounds like “we need to do this,” “here is how the court works behind the scenes,” here is what the District Attorney needs to give us what we want,” and “this is how we can win this trial.” Our lawyers will make your problem their problem.

Douglas County, Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree And Castle Pines Defense Lawyer | Cost Of Lawyer Fee

A lawyer who cares about you does not charge an unreasonable fee. They make allowances for the fact that no one keeps thousands of dollars just sitting around. Sex cases always cost more than nonsex cases. Crimes with mandatory prison or jail cost more than those that don’t. We try and set our fees based on the amount of time involved in the case, the complexity of the case, knowing that we have a specialty criminal practice and the seriousness of the offense (which usually means more time will be required). We regularly see lawyers with less experience charging more money than we do.

Our lawyers regularly appear in each of these courts. We are in the Douglas County Courthouse every week. Sawyer Legal Group, LLC, knows how to work with clerks and judges to get you the fairest resolution possible, whether it be a jury trial or a plea bargain.
