In Douglas County and throughout Colorado it is illegal to vote in more than one state. CRS 1-13-710 states that “Any voter who votes more than once or, having voted once, offers to vote again in the state, or, during a federal election, votes in this state and another state, shall be punished by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than eighteen months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.”

In Jefferson County, being charged with Forgery for faking someone’s signature can mean serous penalties. Forgery is one of the ways in which a person can commit Fraud, such as identity theft.  Other things that people can be criminally charged with forging are stamps, stock, bonds, money, a deed, will, contract, check, certificates, transfers, and lottery tickets, to name a few (CRS. 18-5-102). Forgery is a class 5 Felony in Colorado.
